Catching You Up To Date!
Hopefully I can catch you all up to date in what has transpired in the last few months since I’ve written! We did a lot of traveling last year, and then enjoyed our winter at home, but we’ve got more traveling coming up over the next few months.
September found us all on a road trip to Kansas and Missouri. Matthew had been out there before, but this was my first trip that far west! We had a lovely two weeks on the road, stayed with friends, played a lot of gigs, and Matthew even took me back to the festival where he won the National Championship in 2012. It was nice being there after hearing so much about it and imagining what it would’ve been like to be there when he won!
In October we made our way up to Ohio and Indiana to visit family as well as play a few gigs. Matthew provided the music for the annual World Missionary Press Dinner, as well as played at a local church that Sunday. We had a chance to catch up with some dear friends in the area at the same time, which is always a plus.
Come November we trekked down to Helen, GA for the NGFDA Fall Festival. Matthew and I spent our honeymoon in Helen, so it brought back memories to be there again!
December was a packed month, but thankfully all of his gigs were fairly local ones. He was playing a gig every 3 days on average, with some days there being two in one day. We were very grateful for the full schedule.
January, February, and March have all been a little bit more quiet. Matthew has had some local gigs, one family camp in Florida, and we’ve both picked up a couple of lessons. Matthew has also started teaching me to play the guitar, so that I can join him as back up. He’s hoping to have me playing with him by next year, but not only do I have to learn the guitar, but I need to get over stage-fright too!!! That might prove to be harder than learning the guitar!
We have also been working on expanding our online store, but more about that in my next post!
